i7 3770k pretty warm

Hi. I got a computer from a friend a couple of days ago. He bought a new one because he said the CPU got to hot while gaming and just in general. I've removed and applied new thermal paste and cleaned the cooling fan etc. It now runs on around 70c idle and when i play a 1080p video on youtube it goes up to 90-100!

My friend said he had the computer on almost all the time since he bought it in 2012. Is the CPU F''''? Anyone have any ideas what to do?

This is very odd. I've heard of some heating issues, but not to this degree. The only thing I could say would be a faulty sensor, but if you experience throttling, then you might just have to throw in the towel.

I'd suspect the cooler more than the CPU. Cooler and ambient temperature?

It spikes 20-30 degrees in seconds when I put on a 1080 video... Is there any way to find out that the sensor i faulty? I could try to change the cooler but it's a tight squeeze. Any idea what would fit? here's an image of the build. http://imgur.com/aL95vXq Sorry for my noobiness!

I would strongly recommend cleaning that dust out using compressed air. It is possible that the pump on that cooler has died.
