I use a LAN cable to connect directly to the router which is connected to the moderm. The download speed is great now, but whenever I use the internet (chrome), websites take forever to load with "resolving host" below, and then it leads me to

This site can’t be reached
www.tomshardware.com’s server DNS address could not be found.
DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_BAD_CONFIG

The exact same message appears for every single websites I try. But after some waiting and refreshing, I can connect again, but this is extremely frustrating since I never had to wait for this before changing to cable.

Steam software pages like forums and news also take forever to load, and always lead me to

Error Code: -105
Unable to connect to server. Server may be offline or you may not be connected to the internet.

So this clearly isn't an issue with my Chrome browser, but with the internet as a whole, because Steam is a program on its own and doesn't use chrome.

Is there some setting I can change to eliminate this problem? I'm a big noob in internet so please tell me how.

Please help me! Thanks a lot in advance!
