i bought a sony external harddrive HD E1 1 tb yesterday i gave to my friend to copy movies when he was copying suddenly it got disconnected and i tried again in his pc it didnt detect i tried in my pc it didnt detect when i see in devices and printers it says harddrive when i try right clicking and properties it says its working properly and i tried updating the harrdrive also . i also tried hidden partion in disk manaement it has no storage capacity or partition value when i connect it has light and in my sound when we plug a device that comes . i tried plugging in back of my pc still not working i tried plugged it and kept near my ears there is sound and it stops again starts in harrdrive can anyone help plz it has work data's plz is there any way i can retrive my dattas

What do you mean by "I tried updating the hard drive"? Would you please post a screenshot of what you see about the drive in Disk Management (you can use imgur.com to upload the image)?
In the meantime you can go ahead and try the HDD with a different USB cable as well, to see if it helps.
