TLDR at bottom
Backstory?? (Probably not relevant so skip if you want)
I've had problems with RAM before, my brother built my computer for me and due to lack of money I had to settle for 2 of his old RAM sticks which were at different frequency, this caused crashes so I bought my own 16GB Corsair RAM after I earned my own money.
Issue
Yesterday I came home and turned on my computer, it powered on as usual except my mouse and keyboard didn't light up nor was my monitor finding a signal. It was obvious that they weren't receiving power from my computer. I started to reconnect all hardware components to test which was causing the power break. I tested RAM first as it was the easiest, put 1 stick of RAM into the second pair of slots, everything received power again. So i added the other stick into it's pair and everything worked. I thought the problem was solved and went on with my day. Today, I come back from school and turn on my computer and the same thing happens, no peripherals receive power. I placed both RAM sticks back into the original pair of slots I had them in when I first had this issue, problem solved.
So why is this happening? Is it my RAM or my mobo causing a break. How do I go about testing/resolving this? This is likely to happen again after I power off my rig, I just don't want the inconvenience of switching slots again. Simplify it as much as possible for me please
;tldr Computer wasnt sending power to keyboard, switched RAM into different slots, resolved, next day it happened again, switched RAM back into original slots, resolved. wtf is going on
