At this point, I think you're right with the board. That's really the only thing that would do that type of thing now.

Honestly, I have always preferred Toshiba Satellites. As I said, you and I have the same one now and I had another model before that one. They are good, solid laptops and as long as you take care of them, they last forever. If the budget isn't there for a Toshiba, the next step below that I would recommend (in that price range) is anything ASUS. They are a little on the cheaper side, but they'll do what you need them to do.

Let me know if I can be of any further assistance and don't forget to hit the best solution on the way out!

I have that same exact model and did the same thing you did no more than two months ago and got the same result. Our model of laptop is not completely compatible with Windows 10, so that issue pops up.

I hate to say it, but this won't work. Hopefully the install didn't remove the restore partition?

Do you ever get anything on screen after a full power down (ie. unplug and pull the battery out wait 30s then plug it in with out the battery installed) ? Can you access the BIO setup on the laptop ? Do you have a CD rom drive and if so can you make sure there isn't a CD rom in the drive.

I'm not sure i can't see anything on the screen,I did back it up before 10.I dont't understand why Microsoft does stuff like this if it's not compatible it shouldn't allow it to down load!!

Because Microsoft just wants people to buy, that's all. They don't care if it ruins your stuff or not. That's one of the reasons why it's so hard to get a hold of their support for OS troubleshooting.

So when it boots up, you don't see the BIOS post?

You see nothing at all on the screen? Really? I at least got to the BIOS but it gave me the black screen from there. So when you press the power button, you don't see the initial Toshiba screen at all? If that's the case it sounds like the install may have done more damage that we initially thought.

Yeah I don't get anything on the screen ,when I power it up the one light comes on and the fan on the video card on,I'm thinking it might be the motherboard going to try to work on it again tonight. I'll let you know. Thanks!

No I plugged it into another monitor still nothing, I was looking online for another motherboard and rebuild it but if I do spend a couple of hundred dollars ,I could put it towards a new laptop. That was the first one I bought new,l bought used ones before, and there was always problems. can you recommend any other laptops I don't want to spend more than $500.00 thanks.
