Computer freezes or reboots during Windows installation but works perfectly from a Live CD

Guys, this is driving me insane, I have a friend's computer here (Core2Duo 4GB RAM), I tried Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 and the following happens:

1) Computer Freezes
a) When the windows installation is loading. (when the windows logo is visible and there's the spinning loading indicator.
b) When the windows installation is copying the files, can freeze at any percentage.

2) Computer Reboots
a) Before formatting the PC it would reboot out of nothing when Windows (8) was running.

I removed everything I could from the computer and kept mobo, ram, one hd but the issue persists.

I tried the following parts from another working computer and it didn't help, I still can't get Windows (any version) to install cause it freezes, here's what I replaced:

1) Replaced HDD with a brand new SSD.
2) Replaced DDR3 RAM stick with another DDR3 RAM stick.
3) Replaced Power Supply with another, even better power supply.

but it still freezes! I could swear that it's the motherboard but what is strange is
that I can boot from live cd's such as Sergei Strelec (based on Windows 10) and
from the live Windows environment I can use the computer and it will never freeze
or reboot.

I even ran BurnIntest 8.1 from the live CD, stressing RAM, CPU, Graphics and HDD
for hours long and it will NOT freeze or reboot.

So there must be something with the Windows install that triggers a malfunctioning hardware
on the PC...?

I've been installing computers for over a decade, installing Windows is pretty straight
forward to me, I tried installing from different media, DVD, USB, doesn't matter, still
freezes.

How come the computer works perfectly from the Live CD? Any help is much appreciated.

You mentioned that you tried an SSD and the problem persisted. Did you remove all the hard drives first and did you use another port for the SSD? It almost sounds like there is a problem with the controller and maybe a different port or another controller, if aviailable, might fix the problem. The other things you mentioned usually don't use the storage media so they might not trigger the crashes.

Yes I tried switching ports, cables, keeping just the SSD, tried another regular HD, didn't try
without any hard disk cause 90% of the time it freezes copying the files and without a disk
I can't reach that portion. Wish I had a disk controller to test this now.

Adding up to this, I unplugged the SSD and DVD and then started the installation a few times and
it *did* freeze after I picked the language/keyboard and clicked next (it should display the license
agreement but froze on the installation is starting... setup screen.

Still, the live cd works so perfect stressing the cpu, ram, 2d graphics and SSD, how's that even possible?

I suppose the motherboard is fried somehow, that's all that is left to replace besides the CPU.
