Sound problem with ASUS Monitor VS228H 21.5" and HDMI

Hello, this is my first time asking anything on this site, I'm in need of help, I bought VS228H Asus Monitor, and it only contained a DVI cable, after i connected it , I soon realized it didn't play any sounds. So today I bought an HDMI cable and connected it using the HDMI port on my MSI 960, The thing is, I go to sounds in the control panel, and I can see the bars rising when I Test the device, so It seems like it works. But I get NO SOUND whatsoever. I already upped my volume on the monitor to the max, Enabled and set as default the monitor in the sound panel. So, Am I missing anything? I really need to use the monitor speakers, Please help, And thanks in advance.

Are you sure that monitor has speakers and DAC ?
if it has those, in OS you have to set Default sound device to be HDMI, sound comes from GPU card.

Hi man, Well, I feel stupid now... It turns out it doesn't have any built-in speakers. So... Yeah.. I'm just gonna get speakers on the next paycheck. Thanks anyways. Love this community.
