if you already have a drive you can use, then always get the cheaper version, no need to pay more for "the same" ;)
personally i also like discs better than usbs,, because i always tend to "misplace" my flash drives for some reason.. im thinking gnomes or gremlins sneak in and steal them in teh night ;)

win 7 home (allows16gb ram) or win 7 pro (allows above/more than 16gb ram) both 64bit version ofc, for most games and older/old games
win 10 for dx12 games ofc and newer games (tho sometimes win10 has driver issues with new games so can need some patience for a patch/driver at times), win 10 home is fine, allows plenty of ram, 64 bit version ofc,

very true, but we very soon have Vulcan, which also works on win7, which means DX12 is gonna take a dive, since if the costumer base is like 50-60% still on win7 vs win10 not even 20%
then it makes greater sense for Devs to use Vulcan to reach teh larger base,
ofc that is all theoretical speculation at this point, but would make logical sense that is how it turns out

fact is if you want DX12, you will HAVE to get win10, since DX12 is never coming to win7 because MS is stubborn and has a bloated ego ;)
if you belong to the "i dont like Win 10 and some of the features yadayadayada Waaarg i hate MS Rrrrr" club, and can live without DX12 games, and DX12features, and endure the wait for for Vulcan, get win 7
you could get the "optimal" route and get both and dual boot ;)

note there is technically nothing wrong with win10 as such, in the end its more of a "personal" issue weather or not people want/like it
and if you want DX12 you have to get it, and what/how many games will use Vulcan in the end is not guaranteed, it would just be the technical better option for Devs to choose, but that doesnt guarantee they will use Vulcan in a real scenario they still might choose to use DX12 for their game, and again, dx12 is Win10 only ;)

so the "safer" option is win 10,
personally i prefer win7 (but i also belong to the "club" mentioned above ;)), and are only gonna use win10 when they, make a win10 exclusive game one day, that are gonna make it worth it to use for me (and so far quantum break wasnt it ;))

There are only two things I don't like about Win10. 1) The live tiles in the Start menu. 2) Some of the settings have been moved to the "Metro" interface.

The first is pretty easily fixed. The second isn't that big of a deal.

Other than those 2 things, I feel like Win10 is superior to Win7, and most definitely superior to Win 8/8.1.

A possible 3rd factor would be if you are upgrading from a Win 7/8/8.1 desktop or are using some older hardware, you could potentially run into some driver compatibility/upgradability issues. Personally I've had no issues with either. However, fear of this issue has prevented me from upgrading an older Dell laptop from Win7.

64 bit home edition is fine
i reckon since you didnt already know what pro offers you likely dont need those "business"/extended features, most people dont anyway.
not like the old days where people chose "pro" to get more ram available and such, now win10 home 64bit supports more ram than you could ever possibly fit in most motherboards ;)
so win 10 home edition 64bit is prob all you need

I would suggest getting the retail version instead of the OEM in case you switch mobos or build a new computer. Allegedly Windows 10 is the "final" version of Windows and future upgrades will be free and downloadable as they are with Apple. Allegedly.

if you cant find/get a win10 usb version where you live, you can always just "borrow" a cd drive, internal or external, for the duration of the install, and then buy the cd version
(internal drives can be used as an external, it doesnt "have" to be mounted inside the case, it just need the cables connected)
