Install wrong OS when reverting from win 10. Now can't activate Windows

I'd upgraded from Windows 10 and month deadline passed. I called Dell and was sent usb recovery key but was for Windows 8 Professional instead of Windows Home.. Well couldn't activate Windows. I regret not backing up regularly but did and those seem to be gone. I failed to backup externally. I didn't really have trouble with Windows 10 and rarely use computer so wasn't aware problems would begin. Dell is sending me the correct OS but I'm not sure whether they can fix everything now. It's out of warranty and they want $129 to do 1 time fix. I live in an Rv park and the only internet available is public WiFi with no password. I have no clue what to do

If you let the 1 month deadline pass, you permanently lose the right to use previous Windows versions with that license. Legally you only have lincense for Windows 10.
