My DDR3 2133 RAM not compatible with my AMD FX-6100 CPU?

The DRAM red light is on when I turn on my PC, a friend of mine told me my 2133 RAM may be too much for my old FX-6100 CPU to handle. Can anyone verify if this is true before I buy another CPU? I've looked at a compatible RAM list for my CPU and I do not see Gskill Sniper 2133 RAM under the list.

MC on that processor is at 1866MHz but can be overclocked, MB and BIOS permitting. Any faster memory would work under right conditions but can also be made to work at lower speeds. The thing is that gains of whole system performance would be on the level of statistical error.

So if I don't plan on overclocking my cpu I might as well buy 1866 mhz RAM? And that would be the problem as to why my DRAM light is red on my mobo? Sorry for being iliterate when it comes to hardware but I bought a new mobo and RAM and trying to get my rig working again.

EDIT: Nevermind. Said something dumb, didn't sufficiently read the OP.

Your FX-6100 should boot with DDR3 2133, but it probably won't run it at 2133mhz. It will instead run at lower clocks, like 1866. If it's not booting, that's not normal behavior.

It won't boot and the SB power light is red on the mobo. I have a 530w PSU with 2 4-pin cables so I don't think that cable would be the issue. The fans aren't spinning either when I turn it on. Only the PSU and video card fans are spinning but nothing else. But I've been hearing a lot of problems out of the Asus 970 pro gaming aura mobo. So I think I'm gonna send it back for a new one and hope I just got a faulty mobo.
