I used to have a G700 mouse from Logitech and it worked great for 2 years. Then I noticed that the cursor would move but the clicks wouldn't register. I decided it was a mouse issue and bought a G502 mouse from Logitech and experienced the same problem from Day 1. I connected my emergency MX518 mouse and everything has been working for this mouse without a hiccup.

Why is the old generation Logitech mouse working and the new ones are facing this problem?

NOTE: The G700 and G502 work flawlessly on another workstation I own.

What could be the problem?

New devices need newer software on pc to recognise them, so that makes sense. You should run a program like Driver Booster every few months to make sure your pc is up to date and can run any new things you attach to it.

I should have thought about that before.

Just tried this and unfortunately it hasn't worked.

I seem to have fixed the problem actually thanks to the guide you sent me that pointed me to the Device Manager. I noticed that my Universal Serial Bus Controller Driver was non-existent. So I went to ASUS's website (my motherboard manufacturer) and found the USB Controller Driver download under the Support Page. After installing the new driver, the mouse and the old G700 started to work again. So, ty Colif for pointing me in the right direction.
