I installed a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo on my rig yesterday which is running an AMD FX8350 CPU. All went smooth. Ran Prime95 and my temps went from what used to be about 70C down to about 40C max under full load. Idles about 12C now as well. Major improvements! Not to mention it's way quieter than the stock fan I had.
The issues is, I went to sleep, woke up with morning and at some point in the night it skyrocketed to 220C according to Core Temp.
Is this a glitch? Has anyone seen this happen? It's currently perfectly fine, even ran another Prime95 test for a bit and temps didn't go above 40C.
Just not sure if I need to re-install anything or if I'm ok. Should I wait it out to see if it happens again?
