Ssd will not show up on sata, but will show when connected with usb drive connector.

Solution
then it cud be an issue with ur motherboard Sata disk controller that has not yet been updated to handle the ssd technology...
how old is d mobo???...wats d model no???...is the BIOS updated to latest???...
A SATA controller (serial ATA controller) is a hardware interface that connects a hard drive to a computer's motherboard and manages or directs the flow of data.

It's is most probably an incompatibility between the drive and your mobo's SATA chipset. u need to find out whether ur mobo has sata2 or sata 3.

Standard recommendations are to consider updating your motherboard's firmware or use an add-on PCIe SATA card if all else fails.

Thank you, we Tried all of those but to no avail. There are two drives, one ssd and one hdd that need to be hooked up like this. It was that way on the old mb also. Could it have anything to do with how the drives are formatted?

u mean, all those tests came clean???
other disks works with the sata ports and the ssd works in other computer sata ports???

also ur other statement is confusing..." It was that way on the old mb also. "...
it was which way???...one sata and one usb...or both sata???

"Could it have anything to do with how the drives are formatted? "...
drive format is software enumeration and has nothing to do with ports which are essentially hardware related... if it connects through one port, ideally it should connect through the other port as well...unless thrs a prblm with d port or d drive...

Other drives work in all sata ports. The 2 in question will only function in usb. The last mother board had the same prob, which leads me to think that there might be somethin funky with the drives.
