Hey everyone, so I am buying a used Motherboard from a local guy that had windows installed with it already. I also have a used hard drive from an old PC with the same version of windows. I know there will be issues with drivers being different and everything. But would it be possible to put the used hard drive in and let windows repair the missing drivers itself. or would it be better to just buy and re install windows 7 from scratch and do the free upgrade to windows 10?

I would suggest just buying Windows 10. You could however, just buy Windows 7, make an install media via the Media Creation Tool found here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 and then just put the Windows 7 activation key into Windows 10. As long as you have Windows 10 version 1511 (which that tool will create install media for), it will activate off of a Win 7/8/8.1 key.
