should i go for the intel 6700K or wait for zen or what?
thank you :)

really ?? compared to what , haswell ? lol.. if you like your hands tied and proprietary then I guess skylake is nice ?? [opinion] then all its issues too boot...

thing is with zen for how long has it been coming ''next year'' ? just seems next year never makes it so you maybe waiting until the next year once again ?? [next year = amd's new motto ]

if you need something today get something you can get today as they say hold your breath long enugh and you will turn blue in the face or a bird in hand is better then 2 in a bush

How is that cpu bottelnecking you? you can overclock it easy 4ghz+ if needed, but if you really want to upgrade go for the i7 6700k as it is a solid cpu but if its mostly for gaming and so stick with the i5-6600k and save some bucks and if you dont play to overclock dont get the k version either.

But if you are happy with your system atm and it does what you want it to do then overclock it and wait for next gen and save some money.

I think with as many AMD AM3+ threads on something like this one is the fact the AM3+ is starting to show its age when using todays newer programs and games ,, 9t was not like they were that great to start with and being a AMD fanboy for 15 years it was AM3+ that drove me over to intel for my first time ever - and cant say it was a bad move in any way [ just glad I cut my AM3+ losses ]

i too had the am3+ fx-8350 only reason why i di change was becuase i saw a good deal on a intel board that i got free 8gb ddr4 ram with so i bought that and got a i7-6700k instead.

But for gaming the fx-8350 destroys all games easy with a good gpu i did run all games at max settings with my 7970 and got 80+ fps in almost all games. so for that its no point changing.
