Will Core 2 Quad Work with Intel D955Xcs 955X Socket 775 BTX motherboard?

ok so I'm planning to get this motherboard for my dell e510 dell PC case.http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Intel-D955Xcs-955X-Socket-775-BTX-Deskltop-Motherboard-w-Audio-LAN-RAID-/162051882526?hash=item25bb0b7e1e:g:xcwAAOSw0QFXCWYh

But I want to get a core 2 quad because its a lga 775 socket type, but it says that it only supports

Intel Pentium Extreme Edition 3.20 - 3.73 GHz processors
•Intel Pentium D 2.80 - 3.40 GHz processors
•Intel Pentium 4 Socket 2.80 - 3.80 GHz processors

It's not just the socket that has to match. The chipset/fsb has to be designed for the processor and the board's BIOS needs to recognize it. I would not take the chance. That board can't be much better than what you must have now anyway.

Well that's why I was asking be used as you can see it's a lga 775 socket type and the core 2 quad I want is a socket type 775 aswell. So will it work even though it for a say? Like for example will 8gb be recognized In 4gb Max motherboard? Yes I have tried so it's the same concept
