Will an i5 3470 be adequate for a potential Nvidia Pascal upgrade?

My Current set up:

i5 3470
GTX 970
DDR3 8GB
Corsair 600m 600w.

I am thinking about potentially upgrading my GTX 970 to one of the new Pascal cards launching later this year, (probably a 1070 or whatever it's called).

Will a i5 3470 bottleneck the new cards?

Also is it worth upgrading to 16gb of RAM?

Solution
It's not worth considering until the cards are here. Usually the recommendation is to miss a generation as each single generation is not usually enough to give a worth while increase for the cost. Is there something your 970 is not doing?

I would expect your cpu to be fine except maybe in very CPU heavy games where it might hold you back a little but that's a guess
