Hello, i have a problem with my PC were if i run "some" games on ultra, Such as The division or, far cry primal i get power surges, im not quite sure if the problem is with my PC or the electricity in my house, but what i know is that i have a decent build and both my SLI 980ti are 25c idle since im using an EK-KIT X360 with an extra radiator for reasons, and a 6700k cpu 4.7ghz which is also 24c idle, and a 1050w PSU, and finally an Asus VIII extreme mother board etc, i dont know what the problem is but will the Surge protector fix this problem? or am i supposed to replace the PSU, im confused help.

Solution
Do you know what power surge and/or sirge protector exactly is? Like it has something to do with lightning, etc.? I do not think that you have have a power surge problem.

TT thoughpowergrand/ 1050w/ modular / ATX 2.3 & EPS 2.92/A-PFC / 13.5cm/ EU / 80 PLUS platinum

I had my CPU and Games run on ultra as a stress test in other places but it worked fine, so im guessing it has to do with the electricity in my place?

You mean Asus anti-surge? If so, a new PSU.

it is Asus anti surge, but dont you think it has to do with my electricity? cause i stress tested it in my pals house and nothing happens there

A surge protector is only meant to block power surges that would come from a voltage spike due to lightning or a transformer problem. Basically these shut off voltage if there is a spike. Meaning your system would shut off during a spike. How do you know you are getting power surges when gaming? How are you measuring your line voltage?

If it is the mains, what you really need is a high power UPS (uninterruptible power supply). A UPS will switch to battery power if it senses any problem with the incoming power and switch back when it sees normal power again. DO NOT GET A CHEAP $100 UPS! You need to get something with 1250 to 1500W capability. You'll want to be looking at something in the $400+ range with a *pure sine wave* output. It'll be big and heavy. If you get something with a simulated sine wave output, at load your power supply could potentially burst into flames.

i dont get them unless i run my games at ultra, they dont occur randomly

running at ultra will probably only pull another 20W maybe if your cards are at near 100% otherwise. So i don't see that being a cause unless your PSU is right on the edge (I'd say not), and pulling probbaly 700-800W from the wall should be fine.

So there are two possibilities.

You have a software issue that is looking like a surge that only happens when in ultra (unlikely).
or
You have a faulty PSU that is tripping early and causing asus to think you have a surge. (more likely) I would not say that the PSU is inherently incapable.
