So I'm looking for an immediate upgrade with a really low budget (150 euros).
The build will be used for modern gaming, such as games like The Witcher 3, GTA V, Quantum Break as well as for competitive gaming such as League of Legends, CS:GO and Blade and Soul.

My current rig:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 @3.20GHz (overclocked from 2.66GHz).
Motherboard: Gigabyte P31-ES3G
RAM: DDR2 2x2GB (Total 4GB) @400MHz for each stick.
GPU: XFX R9 270 2GB (stock clocks)
Storage: An SSD for my Windows 10 OS as well as for small games like League of Legends + 465GB HDD.
PSU: 500W (don't remember the brand).

NOTE: The only thing that I'M NOT looking forward to changing, is my GPU, as it suits my needs for the games that I play. I need suggestions for new CPU, MOBO and RAM.

Solution
Price out a G4400 skylake cpu, any lga1151 motherboard and a 2 stick kit of ddr4 2133 speed ram.
Not knowing your prices, I think that will meet your budget.
The G4400 is only a dual core, but the total package is somewhat stronger than the Q8400, and the single core performance which is the most important is close to double.
The nice thing is, a skylake upgrade will enable future upgrades to i3, like the i3-6100 or i5, i7 and possibly kaby lake.

Will a G4400 be a good upgrade for gaming? Cause some games don't do well with just 2 cores.

Some games actually DO need 4 threads. If your games need 4 threads, then you need the budget for something better.
It all comes down to budget and long term plans.
Your Q8400 quad has a passmark rating of 3230 and a single thread rating of 1127.
The G4400 is the cheapest($60) entry level skylake cpu. It has a passmark rating of 3707 and a single thread rating of 1869.
If your budget will permit, the $120 I3-6100 is a very good mid range processor.
Passmark is 5500 and single thread is 2102. It is dual core, but 4 threads so 4 thread games will run.
