I have a list of updates to avoid , the Win10 notification KB3035583 is one of them ...
After installing the updates ( less the ones I avoid ) I turn off the windows update ..
Set it to never check or update ...

SO there I was when I spied the Win 10 update notification ,,
A quick check and KB3035583 had some how been installed on my computer ..

OK WTF is going on ? How did KB3035583 get on my computer ?

Because the only thing I can think of , is that Microsoft may possibly have hacked me to install KB3035583 ...

Which if true means Win7 and 8 etc are probably compromised ( in my opinion ) ..
I had exactly the same problem with Win8 , why I back tracked to 7 ..
And now I find updates installing without my authority or knowledge ... On 7 ( same thing happened with 8 )

SO does this mean Windows is completely unsecured ...
Is Linux the only option , with VB and maybe XP in a virtual environment ...

Solution
'Hacked' is not the correct term. MS wrote the OS originally; 'backdoored' would probably be closer. I hold no doubt that every MS OS has huge numbers of hooks in it.

When an update is modified after the original release, any 'hide this update' flags are cleared. This has been documented for a long time.

If you don't want Windows updates, either disable Windows Update, or use Linux. I suggest the latter; the former has security issues... probably still better than XP, though.

EDIT: Misread your post; I didn't realise you completely disabled Windows Update. No-one else using the PC?

I think the issue is that Microsoft cant be trusted ( not that I ever trusted them ) .
But this is very overt , very in your face breach of security / trust ..
Obviously in an attempt to force people onto windows 10 ...
So the question is why ?
Is windows 10 sponsored by the NSA ? ( 8.1 as well )

If the NSA had anything to do with it, why would they bother pushing you to 10? All of the under-the-hood tracking stuff has been backported to 7 anyway.
