Hello,
I've been just chilling on my computer when suddenly the monitor, speakers, keyboard and mouse went out, the computer was still running. I had no idea what was going on, i had to power off the computer, and when i tried to turn it on, it wouldnt even boot to bios.

I opened case, and after starting it, everything would start, except CPU and the fan on it.

I plugged in mobo speaker, removed RAM (leaving even single RAM would do nothing, just CPU fan spin for a second, no POST), and checked POST - short continuous beeps. Apparently that means Power Error, but what kind of power error?

I did unplug everything, took GPU out, everything except base components and still those short continuous beeps.

I tried different PSU, still the same. Is something with the motherboard?

And yes, i checked the long ''Check before POST, bios error'' post, nothing helped.

Thanks for help!

Not sure what you mean, by power light you mean that light on mobo itself? If that's the case, then no, it doesnt have one.
I was thinking it might be the processor, since everything else seems to be running alright.

Hi Hetoneato,

This is likely a motherboard/ram or power supply issue. My first guess would be that the power regulation circuitry on your motherboard has become faulty. Here are a few suggestions
1. Try removing and reseating your RAM, if you have 2 ram modules try one at a time, and try in different slots. (E.g. try ram 1 in slot 0, then slot 2 if it doesnt work)
2. Try a different power supply and ram (maybe you could borrow one from a friend)

What I did once when I did not have the parts to troubleshoot my system was go to bestbuy and get the parts I needed (they have a good return policy, but I explained the situation to them and they said I can return the parts for a full refund with no questions asked if it did not fix my problem) and returned for a full refund the next day - this is completely legal and was suggested to me by a store rep.

I do not think it is your CPU. Which CPU do you have?

I've got FX-6300, mobo GA-970A-DS3P. Got 2 memory sticks, could they possibly be both damaged? Tried plugging them each one by one in each slot, still nothing, just CPU fan spin for a second, no boot.

I already done everything, thats why im asking for help here.
Another thing i've noticed, besides the CPU getting superhot in like 3 seconds, is that it looks like its trying to startup, i noticed it by looking at the fan, it tries to start every second, but fails. But what shortage could cause only the CPU to not work?

Do you have access to another computer? can you try swapping out parts? this can isolate and narrow down the problem

Yeah, tried another PSU, still the same, tried memories, still same, so its either mobo, or processor. Any easy way to find out? Thanks man

I would bet my money on the motherboard failing, but can not say for sure without trying your cpu in another board, or trying another cpu in your board. Maybe someone else knows a way to test this particular motherboard without an additional cpu?

Aight, thanks, I will be sending the mobo back for new one, but I'll try the processor in another computer tomorrow, we'll see. Will tick this as answer, this is one of the most annoying problems I've encountered so far, and I've solved a lot of problems. Thanks again man, much appreciated.
