CPU packages temperature vs CPU temp

What is the difference between the CPU packages temperature and the CPU temp. When I monitor the temperatures I will get 22C on idle but get 75C on idle. Either my monitor software is broken or that it is actually happening the packages with load will reach up to 90C. Which is INSANE! I'm using HW monitor. If your wondering my CPU temp barely increases a degree with load (which seems strange to me)

In that case the only way to monitor temps is to use AMD Overdrive and monitor thermal margins, other 3rd party programs can't read the temps of APUs properly.

I've never heard of CPU 'packages temperatures' but i'm not a cpu guru by any imagination. You're right on 90C. I would shutdown in a split second if I came even above 70C. By HW Monitor I believe you are referring to Open HW Monitor.
I'm not sure what you mean by you get 22C on idle but get 75C on idle?

I'll 'AssuMe" that package temps are something along the line of the whole CPU unit. IDK. Have to look it up.

O ok I didn't know that 3rd party programs can't read the temps. The temperatures seems very much so on the reasonable side. About 40C on idle
