I got a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy FX yesterday and whenever a I play games there is a high pitched buzzing/whining sound coming from my heaphones. This never happened with the onboard audio and when I alt-tab it stops. I have a suspicion that it may be from interference from my GPU due to the only PCI-e slots on my motherboard being right next to it. If it is then how can I fix that? Thanks in advance!

What is your PSU and full system specs? A sucky PSU can actually cause buzzing through the headphones if it has really bad ripple. So only in a game you say?

Try listening to music while running a stress test, first stress the CPU and then stress the GPU, see if you get the buzzing.

PSU is a Thermaltake 750w or something like that

GTX 760

I5-3570k

MSI motherboard

Music is fine, I will try it with a stress test.

I also notice a very faint buzzing when I scroll up and down pages.

Nothing happens during CPU stress test, during GPU stress test it produces the buzzing although the music just masks it and doesn't seem to affect it at all. I used Prime95 for CPU and FurMark for GPU. Also, upon closing FurMark the buzzing stops.
