Can I reinstall Windows 8.1 into a new SSD for my laptop?

I was deciding to buy a new SSD and move my OS into this new Hard drive (and make it my boot drive).
However, I presently have the original version which came installed in the computer. Does Windows 8.1 enable me to reinstall all the files into a new drive? I do not need backup files.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

most laptop use a hidden partion that has the original software. if you go inside or in windows the vendor restore porgram should let you make a dvd or a usb iso stick of the image for free. if not you can download the windows 8x iso from microsoft web page and use there free iso to usb tool to make a clean windows 8.1 image. also if you want to go to 10 for free you can make the free windows 10 iso from your laptop. install it using the windows 8 key for the laptop. then copy back any files you need.
