I'm looking into latest Xeon e5 V4 line CPU's
Can't find motherboards that support them.

MSI X99 needs supported CPU to flash updated Bios to suport new CPU. This is too much hassle.
Even the Supermicro UP Xeon® Motherboards - Socket R3 (LGA 2011) need Bios update.

Asus don't really tell if they support Xeon e5 V4, moreover there is no readme for Bios updates.
Doe's Asus x99 support e5 V4?

Solution
There aren't 50 ways to go about it: all boards on the market prior to the manufacturers updating their BIOS to include support for v4 Xeons will require BIOS updates if the manufacturer decides to add support for it.

If you do not want the hassle of arranging a BIOS update on one of those older boards, your only option is to wait until motherboards with updated shipped-as BIOS become available. Those may have new packaging, a slightly modified model number or just a sticker on the original box to mention the updated BIOS and v4 support.

Supermicro said my MB could be upgraded from the E5 V3 to the E5 V4. Snd the latest documentation say yes, if you have the latest bios.
Hope that helps.
All I can say is check what is the latest ME Firmware , then upgrade the bios and recheck your ME firmware. I had issues where it would upgrade the bios but not the Me firmware. And I worry that without both my board might not work well withthe E5 V4 .
Well after 4 replacemet boards you betcha I will check mine upgrades before buyingnthe E5 1650 V4 ;)

Hi,
meelis your own E5-2620 V4 is OEM or ES version?.
Can you tell me the serial number from your Asus X99-A/USB 3.1?.
I have the Asus X99-A/USB 3.1 and the E5-2620 V4 SR2R6, when i installed the E5-2620 V4 and i switch on my PC i see a message " press F1 to enter bios setup ". When i exit from bios the cpu led lights on and i get error 19 on motherboard display. i try bios 3101 and latest bios, Nothing has changed.

Thank you.
