Hello,
I had to tear apart my computer and with it, my water block for my graphics card. After putting it back together my temperature readings were terrible. In fact the gpu would turn off because it got to hot. My CPU is in the loop and it is cooling just fine, therefore i don't think it is my loop that is the problem. So either it is my graphics card or water block. I tried putting on my stock air cooler for my graphics card and it worked. The fan of course sounded really loud but all was working. So now i am thinking it is the connection between them. The thermal pads look pretty worn so i am thinking of replacing them.

Where could i go to get some more or can i just use thermal paste? Also what is a good thermal paste?

Solution
Always change paste/thermal pad when cooler was removed even for short time. When thinking about switching thermal pad with paste on GPUs, always check for cooler clearance, it may need a pad to keep the clearance right.

Alright thanks for the response. I did change the thermal with some arctic silver 5 for just the main processor but left the pads. I was hoping that was fine but guess not. I ordered some thermal paste and should be here soon. I hope it works.

Thanks for the info guys

I got some k5 pro thermal paste and put that on the Vram and arctic silver 5 for the main chip, then i reassembled everything. Now temps don't go over 45.
Thanks for the help
