FPS drops in all games on newly built computer.

I have been getting severe fps drops on all the popular games I play such as LoL, CSGO, and osu!. None of these are demanding FPS games but are having fps drops go down to 20 fps when I am average 300-400 FPS. I have read a lot of threads about this and no solutions have worked. Anything helps thank you in advance.

Operating System Windows 10 Home 64-bit
CPU Intel Core i7 6700K @ 4.00GHz Skylake 14nm Technology
RAM 16.0GB Corsair Dominator
Motherboard ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. MAXIMUS VIII HERO (LGA1151)
Graphics 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti (EVGA)
Storage 223GB KINGSTON SV300S37A240G (SSD) 465GB Seagate ST500DM002-1BD142 (SATA)

Open NVIDIA Control Panel by right clicking your desktop.

Go to global 3d settings and set GPU power management to prefer maximum performance.

Test and report back.

I tried that did not see a difference i was running it on adaptive before. Thank you for the help though.

Check thermal , recommend speed fan. I suspect something is throttling. You can set a ping in the background to eliminate internet. Also ensure nothing is updating.
