Hello,

Today my ASUS Motherboard has stopped working... for the second time. I have an EVGA 650W Supernova power supply unit, an Intel 6600k, and 16GB Kingston Hyper fury x DDR4-2400ram. The motherboard is an Asus Z170-P and is only about 2 months old. I came home today to see that the motherboard no longer powers on. There is a small green light that is on next to the SATA ports, however, that's the only place that shows any sign of the motherboard working. I am open to your suggestions for troubleshooting, but if I must replace the motherboard, then I want to replace it using a different manufacturer as in 4 months this will be the second time it has broke. What in your opinion is the best manufacturer for motherboards (other than ASUS) for a Z170 chipset?

Okay, so I tried your method which did not work for me, unfortunately. I called ASUS about getting an RMA on the motherboard, and they gave me some additional tips. They told me to strip it down to ONLY the CPU and CPU cooler to see it it would POST. With only these two units installed, there was no response from the motherboard from powering through the switch on the case or by jumping the connectors. ASUS then offered to RMA it for me, but it would take around 3 weeks for me to receive a replacement unit. Since this is the second motherboard I have received from them in a small period of 4 months, I am in the market for purchasing a new one.

Thanks, I thought ASUS had the best quality, but apparently not for me. I am currently doing an RMA on the PSU just to be sure before I buy another $150 dollar motherboard. Until it is fixed, I have to use a laptop with an i3 M370 @2.4GHz, with integrated graphics, anyways, I appreciate the knowledge!
