Hello, so I have been having this problem since last night at 11:00 PM. My internet stays on for about 20-30 minutes then turns off. Its not exactly 20-30, sometimes it just turns off after being on for 5 minutes. Its getting really annoying, I need help. Also one more thing, literally called Comcast they can't do anything, all they did was send me a signal which didn't help. I asked for a technician but they said he will only come next Saturday. I'm not gonna wait a week to get my internet working. Please help, I beg you. Thanks, I don't wanna have to be stuck on playing single player games throughout the weekend.

Modem: xfinity xb2
I am connected through Ethernet, but it happens to my wifi also. So that is not the issue.

Solution
hmm...thn its not a computer issue...
and if the lights are on, thn its not a modem problem either...
its an issue with ur broadband connection rather...
i am afraid theres nothing much u can do unless u r proficient with d local control box at ur area...
u shd wait for the technicians or request them to expedite their service for u...
i am guessing thr was some tension to the wiring in ur area, due to some external incident like storm or something...that may have messed up the connection...

Is your cpu overclocked? Because when ever i pick up my cpu clock speeds up to 4.5 my internet starts turning off. Not sure if it's the same thing with you or not.

lets start with some basics...
have u restarted d router/pc after d issue started???
have u checked ur cables and browser settings???
is the ethernet port on the system and internet led on ur router blinking???
did u do any settings change before it started...maybe accidentally or unintentionally???
have u hard reset ur router???
is there any other device connected to ur router...if so, is it working properly or lagging like ur system???

After a while the whole network just stops working. The lights aren't off on the modem, nor are they flickering. They are on, but it just stops working......

The houston floods..... ;(

if you can look at the cable modem log files and firmware. if it newish firmware or call and ask to have a level 2 tech or eng support send a reflash to your cable modem in case it failed. if the cable modem flash is not right it wont work right on comcast system. also check in the modem/router make sure guest networks are off so you dont have leachers. also do a hard reset of the unit.if there more then one cable mdoem in range change your channel on the router to make sure it not cross talk or someone logging into your router and not theres. in your computer make sure under network and wifi devices there not set to power down. same for pci bus. in the modem check for errors and signal and power levels make sure there fine. if you live in an apartment or condo check that your cable wire still connected fine at the main panel and no one tapped off of you. for the modem make sure it on the first splitter in your home. if it is try a new splitter see if yours is going bad. check the wire on the side your home make sure no ones tapped off and it tight. check cable from home to the pole make sure it not cut or chewed. if it still dropping try changing dns isp try open dns or google dns 8.8.8.8. and 4.4.4.4 see if you stay on better also ask the level 2 guy if there another local ip you can set the modem/router too in case the one your using is over loaded or having issues.
