my LG CD/DVD drive in my desktop computer can read CD disc but fails to read DVD disc after I installed Windows 7. How can I get DVD drivers installed for this version of windows?

It's not a driver problem as the Microsoft driver for all optical drives is built in to Windows 7.

If it was a driver problem, the drive wouldn't be recognised and therefore wouldn't read any type of disc.

It may be a common registry issue which needs fixing. See second post here (soundguruman):

If that doesn't fix the problem, replace the drive.
