Recently, I switched from wireless to wired internet on my home computer. I'm using Cat6A cable, and it is routed straight from the router through the house and to my computer. My computer informs me that the connection that I am getting a gigabit internet connection (on the back IO). However, when i do a speed test, I am getting 50 megabits MAX. When I first switched, I did a speed test and got ~100Mbps. What could be the source of this issue? I have restarted my computer, unplugged the ethernet cable from both my computer and my router, and restarted my router. What could be the problem?

Your local network speeds, as long as they are faster than the speed you can get to the internet from the ISP, have nothing to do with the speed of the internet. It's like comparing how fast you can run inside a bus vs how fast the bus can drive. If you run faster inside the bus, it won't make the bus drive any faster.

Did you check with the ISP for the speed issues if you have about half the speed you used to?
