Hi,

Apologies if this is in the wrong thread.
I want to buy some items like a handheld Hoover and an electric breast pump in the US. They are 110v power supply units.
If the power supply adapters are removable, will it work if I put a 240v one outside the US?

I'm unsure whether the internal components work on the 110v part, or only the power supply.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

It should say in the manual if changing adapters is ok. BUT if not specified, it may still work. Lets say you have a 110V 60Hz AC (US standard), and it outputs a DC voltage (this is very important) of lets say 12V, then you will need an adapter that converts 240V 50Hz (European standard) to 12V which is easy to come by.

Conclusion: It depends. If the load uses DC voltage, then yeah, go ahead.. Otherwise,, I would not recommend trying it, as there is more than just a voltage difference between the standards.. (The hoover I am willing to bet is DC.. :p )

PS:you may check if the load uses DC voltage by looking at the conversion brick.. :)

Hope this helped! :)
