Hi everyone i am new here! I ve got a strange issue! I ve "upgraded" from my old music studio system, a win xp machine based on a lga 775 Gigabyte motherboard with a 3ghz core 2 duo to a dell precision t3400 using the same processor ( i did the upgrade because the previous motherboard had an issue where only 1 ram slot was working).

So now after ive installed my sound card on the dell machine, a pci (33mhz) Digidesign digi001 card, the machine wont go even to bios and gives a "graphic card" issue. While it still works fine on the old system. Now ive tried them all: all the three pci slots, swapped videocards and processors, tried with 1gb of ram instead of 4, also tried other pci cards on the dell, and they work fine.. My bios doesnt have the oprtions to change settings for the pci cards if its an irq conflict...also dell website claims their pci slots are clocked at 33mhz so it should be compatible..

So i am puzzled i dont know what to do next! I greatly thank you in advance for your help!
Thanks!!!

You may want to look through your manufacturer's support page for your pseudo new system and see if there are any BIOS updates. Usually dropping in a CPU shouldn't cause any issues but the system might need a microcode update to help acknowledge the connected devices/ports. You might also want to double check what OS you're running off the new system.

Please make sure you're not mixing and matching your ram's since that can also cause an instability issue for your system.
