Hi there,

Does anyone know a water block produced by a reputable company for the DirectCU II GTX 780Ti? I read that EK used to make one, but those have stopped in production. My card runs really hot under load which is why I want to go liquid.

Any help is appreciated!
Thanks!

Solution
Many water blockes are made for reference pcb. only certain company like EK making water blocks for custom pcb from board partner. Try looking for used block?

What would be a good place to buy them? I had no luck on ebay or my local craigslist listings.

Thanks!

The card runs 37-40 idle in a 19-ish degree room. Under the heaven benchmark at the extreme preset, I'm getting around 85 degrees with fans at a very audible 75%. The card also only runs at 1071mhz, instead of the listed 1280.

Hope this information is useful.

Because the card falls to it's base clock due to temperature. Idle is fine but under load temp is still in acceptable range but due to how nvidia boost work the card will fall down to it's base clock (which is the card base performance). Maybe you could try re-apply thermal paste and improve your case air flow?

I might be able to do thermal paste re-application. But I have a Corsair 500R with a 200mm fan blowing straight at/under the GPU, I cannot really increase airflow.

The card however is really loud, so I am mostly wondering how to keep it down, as it legitimately sounds like a vaccum while gaming.

Yes. However if I tune it to be quiet, it runs very hot and thermal throttles.
If I tune it to be temp-friendly, the card runs quite loud.
But I currently run the stock ASUS curve, because I have seen that it makes somewhat of the best of both, because it isn't ear blowingly loud.

To me i can tolerate a bit of noise if that will keep the card cool. Also i think it might be a bit late to invest in water cooling right now. How long will you going keep that 780ti? Nvidia new card already being announced and will be available in june time.

I do agree with your statement. I would be very interested in a 970, but no one is willing to take a 780 Ti at even 290 dollars.
It's amazing how fast prices drop in GPUs.
Honestly, I don't have much money to invest in GPUs right now..

This is problem with high end gpu. If 1070 really did as good as titan x (nvidia actually said it was faster than titan x) per nvidia claim then those that want to unload their 980ti will have trouble to sell them at high price because MSRP for 1070 starts at $380. And it seems board partner already enter stock clearance mode even before nvidia announce 1080/1070.
