Prioritize Ethernet over Wifi

When gaming on my desktop computer directly plugged in my router over an ethernet cable, as soon as anybody else hops on Wifi with their Ipad or Computer, it makes the internet speeds on the computer very very slow.

I was wondering if there is any way to make the router prioritize ethernet over Wifi to avoid this problem.

Thank you in advance !

You're in luck, that router does support QoS which means you can do this. Go into the routers settings and look for QoS

This is your router's manual check page 50 for QoS settings

http://www.actiontec.com/products/manuals/V1000H%20User%20Manual%20NCS.pdf

Enable it for both upstream and downstream, and make sure to open these ports in there:

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8571-GLVN-8711 if they are steam games

http://portforward.com/cports.htm this is for other non steam games.

To be honest it is a bit complicated on your router, you may want to try the "Default QoS" and see if that does it for you before working on this.
