I looked the best I could on MSI's site to see the best gpu wattage I could go with...currently I have a lowly GT 630 that isn't doing very well. I saw MSI site but not see a max PCI or whatever it is...limit for a graphics card. I acquired a GTX 570 but freaked seeing the max wattage for it - 219 watts and a recommended 550W psu

Solution

the motherboard only matters if it doesn't have a pcie slot, it has a PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot so thats good

the max gpu you can have depends on your power supply wattage and it having the proper pcie cables

if you have a good 550w psu with the proper amount of pcie cables then there should be no issues

if you don't then you need to buy one

Oh ok. I know the other computer (HP) says it can only have a 25w in its graphics slot. Totally different computer but it is weird how one seems limited.

HP does a lot of stupid custom stuff so that people don't try to upgrade it
