Performance wise won't make any difference, but if it's bad return the board, you won't be able to upgrade later on, the x99 uses quad channel so best all slots are working

Ok so I moved them from D1 B1 to A1 C1 and it recognizes them both now. Think this means one of the slots on the motherboard is bad? And is there any loss of performance being in A1 C1 vs D1 B1?
