Hi. All help is really supported!!

My PC build:
AMD FX 6300 (6 CPUs), ~3.5GHz
8gb DDR3 RAM
2tb Seagate HDD but NO SSD
ATI Radeon HD 5400 Series GPU
HEC-550TD-PTE psu
Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 10586)

I have done so much research into what the problem of is when it comes to my rendering speeds in Sony Vegas with my PC! The problem is that when I render a 10 minute video or so it takes over 3 hours! Sony Vegas utilizes the CPU to render and not the GPU! I tryed upgrading the RAM to 16gb but soon found this made no difference. I have since checked the component usage when rendering and the RAM is always around the 40% mark so that isn't the problem. I know people who do very similar videos and rendering to me and it takes them about 10 minutes to render the same video on their PC! I also have realised that when rendering the CPU is being utilised and is always around 99% in use which makes the rest of my PC unusable during this period! This is extremely frustrating and I haven't being able to see what the problem is after about 2 months of researching. I am willing to spend several hundred pounds if I have to upgrade a part of my build but I really don't know what to do because Sony Vegas doesn't render with the GPU and I have a good enough CPU to render faster than this surely?!

Thank you for any help it is extremely appreciated!

Solution
you need a better CPU.
Programs like this use threads/core to render, and more you have, faster you will render.

Fx 6300 is really weak for this kind of task.

I'd suggest you get a i7 5820k.
