Hi, I was hoping that someone can help?!?
I have a new graphics card that I am trying to install, but once I physically install this, I just receive a black screen after re-boot. I have tried to use both the VGA and HDMI output on the motherboard, as well as HDMI output on the graphics card, but neither show any display.
There are no noises or beeps from the machine to suggest that it has been incorrectly installed
To get to this point, I have uninstalled the onboard graphic driver, then downloaded the driver for the new card. Shut down machine. Install new card and then just receive black screen.

If I remove the card then I can load windows without any problems.
PC set-up:
AMD Radeon HD6950 Sapphire (the "new" card was given to me and works correctly in their machine. This is an older card, but I don't want to buy a new one, if I cant even get this one working!)
Corsair CX500 power unit
ASUS Motherboard (AMD A6)
8gb Ram
Windows 7 (64bit) OS

I have seen several threads on here, but have not found any solution. If anyone can offer help or advice, that would be greatly appreciated.

Have you ever had a gfx card in the PCIe x16 slot before? To prove that the slot is functional. How old is the Corsair CX? That line has had some issues with capacitors.

Btw, you don't need any driver for the card to get a display at boot. Or even to get a display in Windows, for that matter. Drivers are only needed while in Windows to get the full performance from the card.
