Hello, I have a question wich I hope someone can answer.I'm a newbie to gaming PCs and I want to upgrade my system with a nvidia geforce gtx 980 and a intel I7 4790, but while browsing the Net I've read dozens of threads and stuff about power supply upgrades to power the GTX.Could someone just tell me if I need to upgrade anything else. Here's my PC in a nutshell, the parts I want to replace also mentioned:
huntkey a502 gaming case
foxconn h61mxe motherboard
huntkey 350W power supply
Intel ivy I3-3240 CPU 3.40ghz
Palit gtx 650 1024mb ddr5
seagate 500gb hdd lg dvd writer
windows 64bit OS

Please,I would really appreciate it!.

Yes, apparently it will be better than two 980s in SLI, although I don't know what that means for DirectX performance.

No, your current motherboard is socket 1155 but the 4790K requires a 1150 socket motherboard.

You would need a new PSU as 350w isn't enough, you want a quality 600w one (EVGA G2 650w is a good one). You will also need a new motherboard as it is the wrong socket, you would need a socket 1150 board. You will also need to measure how much space you have in length for a GPU, to make sure it will physically fit in the case.

Thanks for the answer.could you maybe suggest a gaming case that has the space the parts need?, preferably a one with a low price case cause my budget is kind of tight.Furthermore, would a ASROCK Z97M Anniversary motherboard be fine?

This motherboard will be fine, but if you're not getting a K CPU, you could save a bit of money and get a H97 board, as the only real difference is the overclockability. I don't know of any low budget cases but most ATX cases will be fine.

It can help with gaming but only really if the game is CPU bound and not GPU bound (most are GPU bound). Overclocking can give a good free bump in performance in CPU heavy games/apps.

and if I just replace the I3 with the I7 4790k, would my system handle it?...plus,would it successfully run fallout 4?,I watched a vid on youtube where the guy plays fallout 4 with a geforce gtx 630, and he claims it plays well.

The ASROCK Z97M Anniversary will work fine with the 4790K yes and you will have the option to overclock if you change your mind. Fallout 4 will run well on a GTX 980 & 4790K combo.

Hello again.I've found two types of PSUs in a local store,-a Raidmax 850w plus gold and a Raidmax 730w PSU, are they any good or should I look for the EVGA G2 650W wich you mentioned?

In the link I provided in my last post, it shows a list of PSU's in tiers, tiers one and two being the best. Try and get a PSU from either tier one or tier two to avoid issues.
