Hello,
My girlfriend suddenly tells me her wireless isnt working when I came to visit her. She claims of doing casual work the day before and then the next morning when she wanted to use the computer, the net was down. She claims to have downloaded some kind of work papers, nothing suspicious she says...
Anyway I tried connecting the ethernet cable to check if maybe theres a problem with my ISP, but the net is working fine when I'm wired.
When I plug in the cable to the router (LINKSYS WRT120N) both mine and her laptops and our wireless devices can find and connect to the network but no websites work or any other applications that require the internet. When I pressed the resolve problems in Windows, Windows tells me it cant find any issues with my connection.
When I monitor the packets I can see that data is both sending and coming in. Also when I open up resource monitor I can see processes like svchost.exe (a couple of those actually) that are currently sending some data (or receiving).
I'm assuming something's off with my router but I want to try everything before buying a new one.
What I've tried so far is:
-Checking cables
-Replugging/powering down/etc
-Downloading and installing the latest firmware for the router
-Searching online for this specific issue
-Trying to manually resetup the router in 192.168.1.1
