Here is my motherboard model http://www.findlaptopdriver.com/hewlett-packard-0a64h-specs/ and my CPU is a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ and I have 2 GB of ram (1.87 usable) and if it does fit which one do I get the 2gb low profile or just the 2gb. I just want to use it for watching videos.

Solution

The GPU may help if it can take some load off of the CPU, but your current GPU is most likely not responsible for the "lag" you experience. Upgrading your RAM is probably the best use of your money.
If you are in the U.S, however, you really should just pick up a used computer. You can get a full computer used for not much more than the cost of a GPU.

Something like this will run circles around your current machine. You can get even lower prices if you are willing to watch auctions.
You shouldn't need a new GPU just to watch videos. Integrated graphics should work fine for that.
Both 610s would fit your motherboard. The difference between low-profile and regular is the size of case that they fit. You should be able to tell which will fit your case just by looking at the pictures.

yes the gpu will be able to be put into the motherboard. i agree with calculagator that integrated graphics will just do fine even at 1440p. may be a bit choppy but it will do fine for just videos. just make sure that the case should be able to fit in the gt 610. out of ur specs i would recommend upgrading the ram to maybe 4GB instead of the gpu. i think that will do best for ya.

Well I need to because I can barely watch 720 videos without any lag.
