You can use a second router for anything you want, access point or plain switch if you turn off wifi. Either way you need to have DHCP and NAT turned off on it.

I'm using the old router as access point but, really don't don't need extra wifi. Would it be better if I replaced the old router and bought a switch? Would it increase my speed or security? Thanks
