Hello guys,

My PC is occasionally restarting when loading a game, or when I alt+tab from the game to another program, i.e. google chrome.
Some times instead of restarting, I get the rainbow screen, some weird small cubes with many colors appear all over the screen and the PC froze for some time (like in the picture below).

When the problem appeared: At first it was working fine but after I have changed my Full HD 60Hz monitor, to a QHD 165Hz monitor (I am operating it at 2560x1440 @ 120Hz) with G-sync, this issue appeared.

The issue is happening really randomly, sometimes I alt+tab between programs and do loading screens just fine!

This is what I get from the Event Viewer after the PC restarts:
Event 41, Kernel-Power
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

Here is my system (all the components are about 1,5 years old):
Display: Asus ROG PG279Q (connected with display port) (it has G-sync) (I am operating it at 2560x1440 @ 120Hz)
Motherboard: MSI Z97-GAMING 7
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 770, 4GB DDR5, TWIN FROZR
Memory: Avexir Blitz 1.1 Original 8GB (4x4GB) DDR3 CL10 2400MHz
SSD: Corsair Force Series GS
Power Supply: Seasonic 1050W 80+ Platinum
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit

List of things I have tried so far:
1) Cleared CMOS
2) Every Driver is up to date.
3) Used DDU to remove and reinstall Nvidia drivers.
4) I have tried a brand new Power Supply.
5) I have no Overheating Components.
6) I have not done any additional Overclocking.
7) I have made sure all my Hardware and its wiring is connected properly.
8) I have done a stress test with PassMark and everything seems fine.

(This is what I get sometimes instead of a PC restart)

I'd say either your PSU is faulty or your system is overheating...either way, we need complete system specs.

Right now you are kinda asking your mechanic to fix your car and only saying "sometimes is shuts off"...no make, no model, no year, etc.

Please post FULL system specs and temps if possible.

Thanks!

I haven't mentioned my hardware because as you can see below all my hardware is really capable, also all my drivers are up to date, and no I have no components with high temperatures, I monitor all of them, and I haven't done any additional overclocking.

Here is my system (all the components are about 1,5 years old):
Motherboard: MSI Z97-GAMING 7
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 770, 4GB DDR5, TWIN FROZR
Memory: Avexir Blitz 1.1 Original 8GB (4x4GB) DDR3 CL10 2400MHz
SSD: Corsair Force Series GS
Power Supply: Corsair 860W 80+ Platinum
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit

I am asking if other people that have experienced restarts on game loading screens, or when alt+tab from a game to another program, or if they get those colorful rectangles shown in the image, have solved their problem by replacing the PSU, or if you have anything else in mind that can cause all that?

No offense, but if you are here asking for help " hardware is really capable" isn't telling us much. There are a lot of variables in computers and to give you the best advice we need all the info. Please don't get rude with people taking their time to help you for FREE.

Have your tried a stress test on your system since this started to see if anything red flags?

Ok I am sorry. What software do you recommend for stress test?

Hello again, this are the results of my stress test, I have run everything at 100% for 15mins, everything seem normal right? Is there a chance it is still the PSU?
