Which processor should I buy and should I also buy a graphics card or use the integrated graphics.

I am considering building a computer mainly for playing minecraft, but also for school work. I was wandering if I should buy Intel or AMD, and which model I should buy. My max is $150 for the cpu, but if the integrated graphics are enough for running minecraft with 60+ fps, I would be willing to pay $200. If I should buy a graphics card, which one should I buy with a budget of $100?

if you have a local micro center there 6500 is 179.00 and with some mb combo you get a 30.00 instant rebate. there 4590 haswell is 160.00. use a h97 micro atx mb. for gpu uses parts picker and sales flyers look at the 950 as a min gpu. there been sales card with rebates have hit 129.00 or less. on amd gpu there the 379/380 gpu. in a few days nvidia is doing the launch of there newer gpu you should see a price drop on the older gpu as vendors try to blow the cards out.

Same build, $673 with a lesser video card that will still do minecraft extremely well and many other games. Also room to upgrade a bit someday:

If you wanna go with an APU for minecraft, that'll work just fine. An AMD A10 78xx APU is perfect. Use the money you saved on 8gb+ of DDR3 which will help a lot with those APU's.

But if later on you decide you wanna try something a bit more graphics intensive, you could pick up an AMD R7 250 for cheap and run it in crossfire with the iGPU. That setup would cost maybe $450 USD (not including peripherals). Of course this is one of the value "gaming" setups and doesn't leave much room for expansion. If you want something with a bit more performance and upgradeablility, then something like an i3 6100 or an fx 6350/8320 combined with a GTX 750 ti make for a hell of a good budget build in my opinion. And it'll come out much cheaper then the $700 budget you have. Even if you include the OS, it still comes out under $700.

Unfortunately, there isn't a Micro Center near me, know of any other stores that might have similar prices? I looked the CPUs up on newegg and they were both $200+ there, I was able to find them used on eBay for a little more than Micro Center's prices, but you never know the real condition when buying on there.

Don't bother with that its a very weak processor.

There is a lot more to a build than just the processor. Check out the 2 builds I posted, the second one is below your $700 budget with links to all the related vendors, and will do whatever you want for a very long time with no need to upgrade.

Cheap processors like you are suggesting, in a couple years you are going to want to toss out and replace. If you have $700 to spend now, spend it wisely.

Rouge Leader, do you think your builds will run well with out a dedicated graphics card? Or should I invest the extra money into buying one.

The Intel 530 integrated graphics on the i5-6400 are decent, should do minecraft no problem. Personally I would go for the GTX 950 for better performance, but you could always add that later to save money for now.
