Hello, I'm new to this forum but have been referencing it on and off over the years. I picked up this desktop for relatively cheap last year and just recently decided that I want to OC it to about 4-4.5Ghz. It's not that it's not doing what I need or want it to do, but like my twin turbo Corvette (800ish rwhp), more is better. lol

Specs:

Alienware Full Tower
-ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 mobo
-Intel i7 975 3.3Ghz CPU
-G.Skill Ripjaws 24GB (6x4GB Triple Channel) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
-Thermaltake 1200watt PSU
-Watercooled CPU, everything else fans
-2x R6970 in Crossfire (no OC yet)
-Windows 7 Professional

I've read some threads about the process for changing the settings in the BIOS, and have even used a few other people's parameters, but when I did (191x21 for instance) the OS/computer would freeze or show BSOD at startup.

I guess what I'm asking, is with the hardware listed, could someone provide me a tried and true parameter for all the settings for me to input and then stress test for stability? I'm sure there's someone here with similar hardware, and while it's not all cookie cutter simple, I'm ok with close enough.

I can take and post pictures of my BIOS menu if needed.

Thanks in advance!

*I'm trying to make this a discussion, not whatever format this keeps becoming. Sorry for the duplicate posts!

I've deleted your previous thread as it was an identical post. Please keep your thoughts and opinions and possible suggestions on one thread since this will help our forum goers to provide a consistent answer/suggestion as you/they move through this thread. There are only two formats on this forum, a non discussion thread which dictates that an answer be provided while the discussion thread is for a free flowing thread in which news and other more recent events can be discussed. In this case you're supposed to be looking at a definite answer and not a discussion. Once you've reached your answer you may choose to select a post as the Best Solution or leave it as is.

That being said you can try and look through the overclocking guides...

That being said you can try and look through the overclocking guides here on Tom's Hardware:
