So this is my first PC build ever.
What I had in mind when building it was mainly this:

Good build for gaming that will allow me to play VR games in the near future (upgrade).

I am a noob with all this so I want your honest opinions in any part that you think I can improve. If you find something better please put a cheaper or same price alternative.

So going into it, this is what I am planning to buy:

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz
CPU Cooler: CRYORIG H7
Motherboard: Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Case: NZXT S340 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX
Monitor: Asus VG248QE 144Hz 24.0" Monitor
Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link TL-WDN4800 802.11a/b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter
Operating System: Windows 10 Home

All of this will cost me around $1400.
What do you think???

Solution
All of the components are good, for now. You should wait a bit, nVidia is going to release new GPUs that will be a lot more capable for DX12.
