Guys i just got a zotac gtx 960 but my monitor only has vga port so I bought a dvi to vga converter(connector) along with it. I m using samsung b1930 monitor. When I power on my pc everything is working fine blue leds, cpu fan is also spinning. But I m getting "Check Video Cable" error on monitor even the BIOS wont show up please help me.

The Zotac card has DVI-I, so the converter should work. The entire point of DVI-I is that it carries both digital and analog signals. They'd have used DVI-D if they were going to output digital only.

To the OP: Is there any way you can verify the convertor is working by connecting it to a different PC? Also do the same with the VGA cable, or alternatively connect a monitor through DVI to the GPU. I have a strong feeling that your convertor is to blame.

right phil - no power > no signal

but
newer dvi ports do no more support legacy vga, using a cable converter will fail too
