Hi there! First of all, sorry for my english, and thank you all for read and potentially answering!! :D

I've built my pc by parts, by myself. I use it just for gaming, internet, musics, films. But when i game, i like to do it the best i can. Once i arrive home from working, i like to invest my money in my hobby, wich is gaming, but i dont like to throw my money. So, there is my question.

My PC is something like this:

CPU: I5-4690 3.5Ghz
CPU Cooler: Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H100i
MotherBoard: Asus Maximus VII Hero
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 Gaming G1 WindForce OC 4GB GDDR5
PSU: Corsair RM1000 1000W 80 Plus Gold Modular (i know its absolutely overkill, but where i live is very very hot and dusty, and i want it to last ¿for life?)
Chase: Corsair Graphite 760T
RAM: Kingston HyperX Beast DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 (x16gb)
For memory, i have 1TB HDD caviar (downloads, photos, films, music) and x2SSD, 250gb (OS and so) and 500gb (games)

As you can see, i've been working and buying my own PC month to month, built it and upgraded it for a year or more, with LEDs, custom wires and so, coz it's my hobby and i love to.

My question is, im looking for upgrading my CPU up to a i7 4790K , wich costs me here in Spain like 315€. I want it because it is about to release Total War, Warhammer, a game that i've wainting for maaany years. Also, my favourite game genre is strategy. I know that genre is more "CPU dependant" and because of that i ask you all, if my CPU could end in a BOTTLENECK to all my other PC components, while trying to play TOTAL WAR games or any other strategy or MMORPGS in ULTRA settings.

Thank you all mates, im very lost in CPU's theory, benchmarks and real behaviour.

Maybe it could be better to invest money in a Wii U? I dont see any other wayt to upgrade my PC!

Below are the system specs. Based on the information given below and your specs, you shouldn't have any difficulty playing. I would save my money for a new skylake build a little down the road to get a better boost. Spending the 315 for the "benefit" of one game isn't worth it in my opinion. Start saving up for a new PC so you can start building it in a years time, after the hardware improves even more than what your current set up will provide you.

Total War: WARHAMMER Minimum Requirements
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0Ghz
CPU Speed: Info
RAM: 3 GB (PC Integrated graphics require 4 GB RAM)
OS: Windows 7 64Bit
Video Card: (DirectX 11) AMD Radeon HD 5770 1024MB | NVIDIA GTS 450 1024MB | Intel HD 4000 @720P
Free Disk Space: 35 GB

Hmmm what sou say is pure wisdom. I've thought about saving money and start in maybe 1-2 years with new technologies, as new MotherBoard Socket, new CPU Socket, DDR4 RAM and so... because im not thinking in upgrade neither my chase nor my PSU, for example...

I have a 4790k and probably won't upgrade from it for another 1-2 years if I can help it (though I love my theme and all). Rather than going from an i5 to an i7 of the same release look at going where the bigger gains will be. Your build should be fine to carry you through the year at least unless you're trying to jump on the VR bandwagon and play on release day.

Yup, VR was in my mind but, first of all, im sure in waiting until VR is well bug-fixed and the optimization is deep. As wireless moueses and keyboards, or SSD's, i'll wait a year or so since worldwide release to take a surely comfortable budget. The jump will be to 4k, VR. Right now, i think maybe it's time to starting saving up money... haha thank you mate! Helped me a lot.
