Hello, I'm building a PC for my friend and I need some suggestions. First off what's the best CPU for GTX 960, which I'll definitely be getting for him? It would be great if the CPU would be LGA 1150 socket type as I want him to be able to have an upgrade path. Next is the Motherboard: there's so many to chose from that I can't decide on what to get for him. The next question: PSU is there a good and cheap PSU that would be 600W as I don't want him to have to buy another one later?

P.S I made a rig just to mess around with main components, but I went overbudget, is it any good and what would I be able to replace to bring it closer to 600€? SYSTEM

On a budget either a pentium or an i3, I went with an i3 because you're reaching the upper end of budget builds. Got an 1151 socket because Kaby lake as well as Skylake are running 1151, so there's the obvious 6600(k) and 6700(k) upgrades as well as anything Kaby lake introduces.
As long as he's not doing any massive overclocking, he should be fine with a t2-t3 psu.
Went with a 4gb 960, as the price difference ain't all that much, but putting that into the build puts it slightly over the 600 instead of slightly under. IMO it's worth it.
Edit: redoing because I used the wrong part of Europe, my bad.

http://de.pcpartpicker.com/p/T9YnsY. I just thought that the I5 series were a bottleneck for a 960 so I downgraded the CPU to the pentium. You won't realize a huge difference ever since a pentium is a perfect match for a 960.

You also need a Power Supply. And a good power supply normally costs more than 60 euros, so if you were to put the power supply into your build, it would exceed his budget by over 60 euros.

Redone. Get a better CPU than the Pentium, a slightly lower clocked GPU to even out that price.

To get it to 600, I chose a micro ATX board over the ATX board. It will support the system that's in it, and supports dual channel RAM, and a single GPU. That being said, it only supports two sticks of RAM and a single GPU. Probably won't be an issue for the forseeable future, but the easiest upgrade to the build at the moment would be to drop another 40 to get 16gb of RAM to not have to replace it later.

Edit: I'll also put this out there: if he can get by with the stock Intel cooler *shudders*, then you can knock 30 off that price. Just a thought. If your friend isn't interested in overclocking, it might be something to consider.

ok, my friend said he can push it to 700€ should I try adding I5-6500 for longevity, as he really wants to play some newer games. Then again the GPU will be a real bottleneck what should I do?

Well, the thing about gaming is that you want your GPU to be your bottleneck. It's typically easier to replace the GPU than it is to replace the CPU, especially if you're not matching sockets. Honestly--if he's willing to bump it to 700, I wouldn't change the CPU or GPU, I would get higher quality components.

Again, very slightly over budget :p but, you get a full ATX board, a better case, a better PSU, and more RAM.
